The MAES Farmer’s Market was created to bring the West Georgia Community together by hosting a market consisting of over 80 vendors. All vendor and raffle proceeds are donated to the agriculture programs at the school we sponsor for the year.

 

Our Mission

“To emphasize the importance of agriculture in our children’s schools by bringing a community of farmers and small businesses together. We also strive to show the community what their residents have to offer.“

At the moment, you won’t just find everything you ever wanted from livestock to handmade jams, hand carved wooden bowls, to jewelry and handmade pillows. You will also find your kind neighbor, a hardworking farmer, a fighting small business, and maybe a new friend. At our market, many have found new friendships and connections in our community they never knew existed.

What We’ve Achieved

  • The ability to bring an entire community together.

  • The first market in 2021 generated enough money to purchase DNA test kits for the students to study the DNA of turkeys and australorp chickens on the farm at Mason Creek Elementary.

  • We currently have many sponsors, but the most significant to our market is our relationship with Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. Each year, they donate thousands of seeds to our market in order to get gardens in every back yard!

  • Profit generated from our market has gives these schools the ability to build new coops for the farms at the schools, have enough funds to feed the animals, or create new programs with AG!

  • We have provided a place for small and large farmers alike, homesteaders, and businesses to come and sell their product in a welcoming environment.

  • We have the honor of providing our community a space to feel safe, have fun, and enjoy the best of what West Georgia has to offer!
